So far I’ve talked about my fondness for crisps and unusual ways to eat them, but this blog is also about snacks. From savoury to sweet, my downfall is biscuits. Give me the choice of a meal or a packet of choccie digestives and a hot cup of tea and the sweet always wins. People underestimate the simple digestive there’s so many ways of enjoying it, from using it as a cheesecake base, crumbling over ice cream with hot choclate sauce, or serving them with some cheese. Yes if it came to the crunch, sweet wins hands down. Apparently, the Olmec Indians are believed to be the first to have grown cocoa beans as a domestic crop around 1500 BC – 400 BC, from then until roughly 1674 when solid chocolate was formed in the shape of cakes and chocolate rolls, the only chocolate as we know was one you drank. Well that’s all from me, I’m off for a cup of tea and a Hob Nob.
